Aviation Security Company Limited

Aviation Security Company Limited (AVSECO) is jointly owned by the Airport Authority Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. The primary role of AVSECO is the provision of aviation security services to safeguard the travelling public and civil aviation operation at Hong Kong International Airport.

We have over 4,000 full-time staff, providing a wide range of aviation security services at Hong Kong International Airport and down town. Over the years, AVSECO has received many awards, such as the “Outstanding Aviation Security Organization”, “Best Security Processing Award”, etc.

By participating in the “Business-School Partnership Programme” of the Education Bureau, it is hoped that through the arrangement of airport visits and career talks to secondary school students who are interested in joining the aviation industry, we can deepen their understanding of the industry, broaden their horizons and understand the operations of aviation industry. Thus, help them plan their future studies and career paths, and promote the sustainable development of the industry.

Visit to the Aviation Security Co. Ltd.

The visit is very inspiring and deepens my understanding on the daily operations of a world-class international airport. The visit was conducted at the departure security checkpoint at Terminal 2, the newly-built midfield concourse. I am interested in various facilities in the airport, especially the restricted transit areas. During the guided tour, there was more understanding on what are the things that should watch out for the safety of all flights. I learnt about the requirements for becoming a staff of the security company. Also the duties of the security staff would need to do when there are some prohibited items in checked baggage. So the visit is worthwhile.

After the visit, I understood more about the operation of Aviation Security at the Hong Kong International Airport. The instructor was nice and helpful. She told us how their colleagues have been maintaining security at the Airport. She also answered any questions that we raised. We have got to know about the daily work and duty of the Airport security guards and the working procedures. In addition, we visited the security system of the parking ground. The visit was definitely a new experience for us and has broadened our horizons!
