It is my greatest honour to have such precious opportunity to participate in the work experience programme in Holiday Inn Golden Mile Hong Kong of Business-School Partnership Programme. From the three-day work experience, I have learnt to take up responsibility actively and be respectful to what you do. Just before the first day of work, I got a fever and hesitated whether to have a sick leave. Then I remembered that Mr. Johnny Li, the Director of Quality Training, taught us the key to success is perseverance and respect. I was so glad that I persisted and turned out feeling great at work. Realizing my limitation and insufficient knowledge, I would strive the best in my current study and hope to contribute to the industry in the near future.

After joining this program, I have learn things that about catering industry. I thought I will do some boring job in these two days. However,there were some interesting things for me to do.For example, I helped HR to decorate games that use at staff party.They hope all the staff in hotel can enjoy the night.No matter whether I am an stranger or student, people at there are kind to me. I really enjoy these two days. Thanks to EDB and Holiday Inn providing this great opportunity to me to have this working

As a secondary five student, I have never imagined myself working in the Human Resources Department in a Five-Star hotel! This unique and precious work experience program became a highlight of my senior secondary school life. The best part of the programme is to get the opportunities to talk to great leaders in the Quality Training Department as well as the Human Resources Department. During my work of preparing “Thank you” cards of the management team, I realized that appreciation can greatly increase staff morale and motivate people to perform better. Holiday Inn Golden Mile Hong Kong treasures its staff as much as the customers and the workplace atmosphere is great, this is definitely an essential for a great business.

After visiting the hotel, I learned a lot which would not be achieved in the classroom. I better understood that operating a hotel is really a hard task. The hotel’s motto is ‘show off yourself’, and the staff there all achieve their full potential and try to do their best in different duties. In addition, the fringe benefits of the employee are very attractive, so that all employees are working pleasantly. Every staff there is professional and courteous. I really learned a lot during this visit.
