Royal Aeronautical Society (Hong Kong Branch)

Formed in 1983, the Royal Aeronautical Society (Hong Kong Branch), is a regional embodiment of the Society representing a local pool of aeronautical expertise. The local branch aims to raise aviation awareness and interests in both the public and industrial arenas, and provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and aerospace information. The Royal Aeronautical Society (Hong Kong Branch), RAeS, has had a long association with the Education Bureau going back to 2005. Over 250 school teachers have participated in our outreach programme. To give a better understanding of the industries and great aviation career opportunities, the Society runs tours for school teachers to show them the behind the scenes activities and job opportunities available to the youth of Hong Kong. Visits have included local based airlines, aviation security, maintenance organisations and the airport itself. This will give school teachers the insight to guide their students that a career in aviation is possible and rewarding, and alternatives to a career as a pilot or cabin attendant.
