Construction Industry Council

Hong Kong’s first zero carbon building, the CIC–Zero Carbon Park (“CIC-ZCP”), since its opening in 2012, acts as a test bed for state-of-the-art eco-building design and continually optimising its technologies, also serves as an exhibition, education and information centre.

1. Promote STEAM education: STEAM Lab is an interdisciplinary education integrating science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics, which helps enhance students' abilities in various fields and inspire their potential and create an atmosphere of STEAM learning.
2. Understand the development of the construction industry: STEAM Lab showcases innovative building materials and technologies, offering students insights into the latest industry developments, and develop a better understanding of various professional roles within the industry, enabling students to plan their careers, and eventually dictating their own future career paths.
3. Facilitate the sharing of educational resources: STEAM Lab serves as an extension of schools’ STEAM curriculum. It provides students with opportunities to practise their learnings away from campus, and collectively promote STEAM education.
