Buildings Department

With an aim to promoting building safety, setting and enforcing safety, health and environmental standards for private buildings, and improving the quality of building development, the Buildings Department (BD) provides services to owners and occupants in both existing and new private buildings through the enforcement of the Buildings Ordinance.

Through the “Business-School Partnership Programme”, BD provides educational programmes such as Secondary School Drama Competition, Building Safety Pioneer Programme, and school talks to enhance their awareness of building safety and increase their understanding of the construction industry, thereby helping them plan their future studies and career path, and enhancing the sustainable development of the industry.
