Established in 1939, the Hong Kong Printers Association (HKPA) is the longest-history and most representative printing organization in Hong Kong. Professional training has always been one of our core missions. We have been actively collaborating with educational institutions, for example by offering scholarships to students who study printing since 1970s, organizing seminars, visits and competitions, and initiating the “IA China” project with Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) of VTC since 2016 to provide students with internship opportunities. These activities can enhance their understanding of the industry and encourage them to develop their future careers in this field.
The printing industry plays an important role in the Arts, Culture and Creative Industries, from acting as the medium of cultural communication, to boosting economic and social development. It is essential in our daily life, environmentally conscious and full of opportunities. However, some people still have misconception about the industry. Through the "Business-School Partnership Programme", HKPA hopes to reach the students, teachers and parents more efficiently and invites them to participate in our career exploration activities, which help them to gain a better understanding and see the future of the printing industry. These activities can also broaden students’ visions, develop correct work ethics and values, as well as help them path their future career in the printing field.
